It started with 300 faithful couples who had a desire to worship, relax at sea, and enjoy the beautiful God-given gift of life. Today, our annual Good News Cruise has grown into a full ship charter with over 1,600 participants!
The upcoming Good News Cruise will be the sixth year of unforgettable sailings and incredible journeys of faith. As we prepare to set sail again, we’re reflecting on how far God has brought us since our very first voyage in 2020.
Unexpected Beginnings
While we were experiencing the excitement of our first cruise, we had no way to predict the global shutdown that would follow just a few short weeks afterwards. Soon enough, travel restrictions forced us to cancel what would have been our second cruise in 2021. For many, this was devastating—not just because we missed an important retreat, but because we deeply needed hope, faith, and community to guide us through such an unprecedented time.
In place of the cruise, we enacted the Good News Conference as a temporary solution in 2021, which would allow us to come together in Orlando while abiding by strict travel restrictions. Consequently, the Conference remains a successful annual event along with our Good News Cruise.
Our Catholic Partner
Since our first Good News Cruise, we’ve found great support in our partner, Ave Maria Radio. This listener-supported non-profit is dedicated to sharing the Catholic faith through radio, technology, and social media. With their help, we have taken on a similar mission to help spread the good word of God, foster strong Catholic marriages, and build a culture of devotion that helps our cruise reach hearts across the nation.
Strengthening Marriages
The Good News Cruise was originally designed as a marriage cruise. This allowed couples to get away with their spouses and grow closer to each other and to Christ. For our first full ship charter, we have curated programming for all vocations so there is something for everyone aboard the ship. We can't wait to see how our programming progresses over the coming years.
More than a Catholic Cruise
As we celebrate this year’s sold-out sailing and growing waitlist, we look back on our last four cruises knowing that it’s not just the vacation that keeps bringing people back; It’s the community, the love, and the journey of faith that truly touches hearts, and will leave you feeling closer to God and to your spouse.
