Embarking on your first Good News Cruise is an exciting journey that combines faith, relaxation, and adventure. To help you prepare for this unforgettable experience, we’ve compiled essential tips to ensure a smooth and enriching voyage.

1. Understand the Cruise Experience

The Good News Cruise offers a unique blend of spiritual enrichment and leisure. You’ll have the opportunity to attend inspiring talks from renowned Catholic speakers, participate in worship at sea, and enjoy various onboard activities. Familiarizing yourself with the ship, past trips, and the speakers will enhance your experience.

2. Learn How to Make the Most of Festival Style Programming

Aboard the Good News Cruise, guests have the opportunity to attend all shows in The World Stage based on their color-coded assignment. This provides every guest access to all of the Keynote Speakers and Entertainers. Performances by Andrea Bocelli and Matt Maher are included among these color-coded shows.

For additional, optional breakout sessions and other programming not in The World Stage, space will be occupied on a first come-first serve basis. Apart from the Keynote speakers’ presentations, The Good News Cruise operates “festival” style programming, meaning there is more content than any one person could, or should, try to attend, so if you don’t make it into the first event you try, there are other options available to enjoy!

We provide many options for different interests, and we suggest that every cruiser chooses and prioritizes those events that most interest them, but not try to attend every event. We encourage you to find time to enjoy the amenities of the ship, mingle with other guests, and spend time in private prayer with our Lord.

3. Plan Your Travel Arrangements

To avoid potential travel delays, it’s advisable to arrive in the departure city at least a day before embarkation. This extra time allows for unforeseen circumstances and ensures you’re well rested before boarding. Consider participating in the Pre-Night Event, which includes accommodations and activities designed to kickstart your journey.

4. Pack Thoughtfully

When packing, aim for versatility to accommodate various activities and dress codes. Daytime attire is typically casual, suitable for onboard activities and shore excursions. Evenings may have formal events, so include appropriate outfits. Don’t forget essentials like comfortable footwear, swimwear, and any necessary medications. For specific guidelines, refer to the cruise’s dress code recommendations.

5. Stay Spiritually Engaged

The Good News Cruise is an opportunity to deepen your faith. Start each day with prayer and reflection and take advantage of the unique setting to connect with your spirituality. The cruise offers various faith-based activities and sessions to enrich your journey.

6. Familiarize Yourself with Onboard Service

Upon boarding, take time to explore the ship and locate essential services like dining areas, activity centers, and medical facilities. Understanding the ship’s layout will help you navigate your days more efficiently.

7. Connect with Fellow Cruisers

Connect with other couples and participants to share experiences and build a sense of community. The Good News Cruise fosters an environment of fellowship, making it an excellent opportunity to form lasting connections.

Conclusion

By following these tips, you’ll be well-prepared to embark on a journey that promises not only relaxation and adventure but also spiritual growth and meaningful connections. Safe travels!
