J. MARK MCVEY

J. Mark McVey made his Broadway debut as Jean Valjean in 'Les Miserables' after winning the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Actor while on tour in DC.  J. Mark was the first American to perform Valjean on London's West End, prior to returning  to Broadway numerous times. Mark reprised Valjean with the Los Angeles Philharmonic to sold out crowds at the Hollywood Bowl and again in The 25th Anniversary Tour of Les Miserables where he won the Ovation Award and the Broadway.com Award on his way to eclipsing 3,200 performances in Les Miserables.


J. Mark McVey had a 22 yr. professional and personal friendship with Maestro Marvin Hamlisch where he made his Carnegie Hall Debut and numerous notable performances with the greatest Symphonies around the country and world. 


J. Mark's Television credits include America's Got Talent and Days Of Our Lives, PBS performances with the Boston Pops, a Christmas Special with The National Symphony Orchestra for the U.S. Military Troops and ‘A Tale of Two Cities in Concert.’


Other Broadway and NY Credits include; Captain Walker in The Who's "Tommy," Tommy Tunes' "The Best Little Whore House Goes Public," the Off-Broadway revival of "Chess," "Hey Love" the critically acclaimed musical review of Mary Rogers' music, conceived and directed by Richard Maltby, Jr., "A Helluva Town" the Bernstein review at Rainbow & Stars, "The Show Goes On", with Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt and “Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil” staring Margaret Whiting.  National Tours and Regional works include: Carousel, Chess, My Fair Lady, South Pacific, Seven Brides and the Hal Prince US & International production of "Show Boat".


J. Mark McVey earned a Double Platinum record for his participation on the Trans-Siberian Orchestra recording of 'The Lost Christmas Eve'. J. Mark has 3 solo CD’s: “Broadway and Beyond,” “If You Really Knew Me,” and “One Among Few”, as well as, a Family Christmas CD and a collaboration with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound.


J. Mark McVey believes his greatest accomplishments to be his 2 beautiful daughters Grace Holly and Kylie Elizabeth a collaborative effort with God and his beautiful and darling wife Christy Tarr-McVey.  The McVey’s are frequently engaged to perform as a family.
