DR. THOMAS WILLIAMS

Thomas Williams teaches theology at St. John’s University Rome Campus, having also held the chair in

Catholic Social Thought at Rome’s Regina Apostolorum Pontifical Athenaeum for ten years.


Williams has worked as consultant and commentator on faith, ethics, and religion for several television

networks, including NBC, CBS, Sky News, and Newsmax. He was appointed by the Holy See as

spokesman for the Synod of Bishops in 1997 and again in 2001.


Williams has written widely on theology, philosophy, ethics and spirituality, and his 19 books include Who Is My Neighbor? Personalism and the Foundations of Human Rights and The World as It Could Be:

Catholic Social Thought for a New Generation. He has also published hundreds of articles and essays on a broad range of topics, from Social Ethics to Theology to Christian persecution.


Williams is a certified wine sommelier and made his professional acting debut in 2019 with a small part in the Netflix original The Two Popes.
